Year two Premier League side, Elmina Sharks, will have the chance to make a push for a top-four spot tomorrow as they welcome table-toppers, AshantiGold, to their turf in the topmost encounter of Match Day 12 as The Miners look to avoid a third straight loss at the hands of their guests, as well as beat off competition from co-leaders, Dreams FC.

Smarting from a disappointing finish on the road against Bechem United this midweek that saw them cough up a 3-0 lead to eventually settle for a point, the Sharks, who are undefeated at home this season and are enjoying an overall 8-game unbeaten run – the longest and best run in the league to date – will have to psyche themselves mentally and physically for their talented opponents, who play very well on the road, although they have just 5points to show for their last five matches on the road. Intriguingly, The Miners will have nothing short of vengeance on their mind as they look to make up for losing twice to The Sharks last season. This clash has nothing but thriller written all over it, and it will likely live up to the hype as The Sharks look to prove to all that they have come of age. Given the current form of both sides, it’s hard to say who wins, but the home team definitely has the edge.

And on Sunday, It will be Inter Allies looking to wash the taste of bitter defeat off their cleats, as they lost the lead twice, and had to settle for a final 2-3 loss against Dreams FC in their gripping midweek clash at the Dawu Stadium as they host Berekum Chelsea. Thus far, Inter Allies have found comfort and victory at home for a 100 percent winning record, even at Cape Coast where they’ve played one of their home games so far. But against, The Berekum Blues who are coming off a 1-2 to WAFA in midweek action at Cape Coast, they will have to be extra sharp as both teams look to get back into the winning column. A tough test for the talented Capelli Boys who are yet to lose at home this season. The two sides have split their last four meetings; a win each and a loss each. Hard to say who wins, but it sure looks Inter Allies has the edge given the venue.

West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC will continue their remarkable turnaround on the heels of a five-game winless run that led to the ouster of Klavs Rasmussen as they go for their fourth straight win in as many outings as hosts of bottom feeders WA All Stars. The Academy Lads have been incredible in their last three outings, banging in a total of 10 goals, whilst giving up just three. Wa All Stars’ quest to find some traction to halt their six-game slide has been fruitless to date, on the road, and even at their favorite Malik Jabir Park in Wa. They showed some resolve this past midweek as they picked up a crucial point against Liberty Profs who are also struggling, against the extra sharp and in-form Academy Lads, The Northern Blues will have to play better in defense and offense to avoid being trashed badly. WAFA has dominated Wa All Stars over the past two years; winning three out of four meetings, and the other ending in a tie. Given Wa All Stars moribund form, this is definitely WAFA’s game to lose.

Struggling Asante Kotoko will be looking to rebound from the 3-1 beat down they were handed in this midweek’s action against newbies, Karela FC, as well as an end to a two-game rot that has seen them plummet out of the top-four ranks to the 10th spot on 14points as they play host to Bechem United at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday. The seventh placed ‘Hunters’ are on a three-game unbeaten run, they showed their resilient side this midweek as they came from 3 goals down at home to hold Elmina Sharks to a tie. Against Kotoko, who needs the bounce badly, they cannot afford to fall behind and hope for another comeback. Historically, The Reds have had their way with Bechem United, winning four out of the last six clashes between them, and Bechem winning just one. Kotoko can put this away if they can keep their opportunistic guests at bay. Given their dominance over Bechem Utd, this looks like just like game the doctor has on order to cure Kotoko of their recent ills.

Thirteenth placed on 9points, Liberty Professionals, have been able to stem the losing tide in their last two games: at home against Wa All Stars, and on the road against Hearts of Oak. What they have not been able to do is hit the win the column in their last five attempts. They will have the chance to do just that this Sunday, as they host the feisty and talented newbies, Karela FC, who have played beyond the expectations of many. On the road, they have managed a win against Wa All Stars, a tie against Dreams FC at Dawu, and lost their other 3 games by just a goal each. The Passioners may prove a bit difficult to crack for The Scientific Soccer lads, but they will have to capitalize on the advantages of playing at home to end their five-game winless run in the first Premier League clash between the two sides.

Elsewhere on Sunday, it will be Medeama SC shooting for win number five at home as they host Dreams FC who are coming off a morale boosting come from behind 2-3 win over Inter Allies in midweek action, and are yet to win on the road. Dreams lost 2-1 on their first ever trip to the Tarkwa T&A Park in 2016. They will have to work extra hard salvage a point at worst.

And newbies Eleven Wonders will be hoping to end their recent two game losing run, all on coming on the road as they return to their favorite turf – Ohene Ameyaw Park, to host a stressed Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs side that is not playing well at home or on the road. This will be the first meeting between the two clubs.

The match between Aduana Stars and Accra Hearts of Oak has been postponed due to the former’s Confederation Cup match against Asec Mimosa in Ivory Coast.
