The Board of Ghana Premier League side, Accra Hearts of Oak, has appointed Mr. Mark D. Noonan as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer.

His appointment was contained in a press statement, issued and signed by the team’s Communication Director, Mr. Kwame Opare Addo.

According to the press release, Mr. Noonan was the most outstanding and accomplished among all the applicants, and his vision and mission statement is consistent with that of the club.

The release also described Mr. Noonan as a graduate of Duke University, Durham, NC, and as an astute sports administrator, whose expertise encompasses management experience with Major League Soccer (MLS) and the World Surf League.

Mr. Noonan was given a three-year term. His major tasks include working in close collaboration with all stakeholders of the club, and transforming the team at the continental and world level.

Commenting on the appointment, Togbe Afede XIV, Chairman of the Hearts of Oak Board said:

“I am excited that Mark has accepted to join us, in spite of all the opportunities available to him in the United States.

Over the past four months that I have interacted with him, I have noticed his transformation into a Phobian. I look forward to making history with him”

On his part, Mr. Noonan thanked Togbe Afede XIV and the entire board, saying in part:

“I am truly honored to join Accra Hearts of Oak SC… I humbly ask for the support of all true Phobians as we embark on this exciting new chapter…”

The Board has requested the continuous support and cooperation of all stakeholders for Mr. Noonan.

Mr. Noonan takes over a Hearts of Oak side that is without a Head Coach following the recent termination of Coach Frank’s Nuttall contract.

He is expected to be unveiled at a short ceremony scheduled for Monday, 5th March, 2018.
