- Hon. Rashid Pelpuo and eight other former ministers have been charged by the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police for stealing.
The Member of Parliament for Wa Central Constituency, Hon. Rashid Pelpuo, has rebutted allegations that he received double salary as a minister of state and a member of parliament.
In an interview with Joy FM's Kwesi Wilson Parker, the lawmaker noted that as a member of parliament, he received a salary and also as a minister he was given some amount of top-up. According to him, he does not interpret that as double salary.
Hon. Rashid Pelpuo appeared before officers of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service for taking two incomes during his tenure as a member of parliament and a minister of state.
He noted that essentially, the system will correct itself. He said, “If there has been a fault with the system, let's address the fault with the system and correct it. I don't think that it is the person who should be held for the inadequacy of the system."
